This month’s update is going out a little later than usual, because of work for the Annual TS Eliot Festival, held on Sunday. However, this means that the site’s News page can lead with the story, revealed at the Festival, that Jeremy Irons is recording the whole Eliot canon for BBC Radio 4. We have the details as disclosed on the Festival stage.
Also in News you will find the death of Matthew Evans, the Faber boss instrumental in gaining permission for Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats to be adapated as the musical, Cats; and an intriguing exercise in tracing the etymology of the first stanza of Prufrock.
In Events there is another Waste Land guided City walk, around some of the sites and streets mentioned in the poem. This walk is open to the public; but see the Members Area for details of a discount for Society members.
