Newsletters

Newsletters are circulated regularly to members as necessary.

Exchanges is the quarterly report with short articles published by the T S Eliot Society and free to all members.

  • Issue 1-2 contains a lead article by Martin Warner on "Poetry, Understanding and Belief"
  • Issue 1-3 has a main article by Reginald Massey on "Eliot and India"
  • Issue 1-4 has a wider range of member's contributions.
  • Issue 1-5 focuses more on members poetry.
  • Issue 2-2 opens with a memory from Park Honan of Eliot speaking at Chicago University more than 50 years ago.
  • Issue 2-3 features an article from Reginald Massey on one of Eliot's least-known poems; To The Indians Who Died In Africa.
  • Issue 3-1 focusses on later (including 2010) thoughts about Eliot's "The Idea Of a Christian Society"
  • Issue 3-2 touches on Eliot's interest in Tarot card characters, and on some of his plays.

There are also occasional up-date newsletters about the maintenance of the society plus requests for help, and plans for its development. One of these was the production of an occasional Journal in which submitted articles longer than 3 sides of A4 can be published. The first issue was printed in May 2009 containing four substantial articles not previously published.
